Representatives of war tax resistance (WTR) groups from around the country will attend and join local war resisters and activists as presenters and facilitators for panels, group discussions, and workshops. Program planning is in progress.
Friday Evening, May 7

Death and Taxes film showing. Open to the public.
30-minute film followed by short personal stories by war tax resisters and discussion.

Action reports from Tax Day, NWTRCC activities, & state of the War Tax Resistance (WTR) Movement/Network - Reports from activists around the country from April 15 and tax season. Program update on War Tax Boycott, reports from showings of Death and Taxes and film promo ideas, and other NWTCC activities. Open discussion of ideas for development of our efforts and/or changes needed (strategies continue at at 4:30).

• WTR 101: Basic introduction and getting started. Led by long-time war tax resisters.
• WTR Questions and Answers for experienced resisters and counselors, with Ruth Benn, NWTRCC Coordinator

4:30 - Discussion
Organizing in the Age of Obama (small groups or large group) War tax resisters and the tea bag "movement". How do we distinguish ourselves from these activists? Do we interact or keep our distance? This session is open to other issues about organizing during a presidency with the promised hope of change.
Concurrent (optional): Time for NWTRCC committees and special interest groups to meet - War Tax Boycott, Fundraising, Peace Tax Fund follow-up, WTR Penalty Fund/assistance programs

Dinner - plans are being made for a group dinner or restaurant options will be available. We must be out of the Friends Meeting by 6:30 pm. Ideas for evening activities will be suggested also.
