WTRs in Asheville
David Swanson and Cindy Sheehan and war tax resisters from across the country met up in Asheville, North Carolina, May 3–5. The New South Network of War Resisters hosted and lots of locals joined us, provided housing, and told their stories. Read “Some Don’t Pay Their War Taxes” by David Swanson. See video excerpts. David Gross posted photos on Facebook, and we’ll add more links to photos and video in the next couple days. Thanks to our hosts, to Cindy who took time from the Tour de Peace, and to everyone who came!

Not Just April 15
War tax resistance doesn’t stop after April 15. In fact, now is a good time to study up. Every paycheck with federal tax withholding gives a loan for federal tax dollars that help buy drones, indefinite detention, nuclear weapons, killing innocent civilians… if you’re reading this you probably have your own list. NWTRCC keeps going on a small budget of under $45,000 per year, which is raised through individual contributions, sales of literature, affiliation fees of our member groups — and lots of volunteer help. Donations paid to NWTRCC by check or through PayPal and WePay are not tax deductible (see below for tax deductible contributions for our educational work). Online by Credit Card or Bank Transfer
Click on the blue button to use the service WePay to send donations to NWTRCC or pay for resources. NWTRCC pays a 3.5% fee for each payment it receives through WePay.
Click on the orange button to transfer funds through the payment service PayPal (online at paypal.com). If you do not have a PayPal account, it is free to sign up and there is no fee to you for your payment or donation. NWTRCC pays a 3% fee plus 30 cents for each payment it receives through PayPal.
Pledge Online for $10/month through PayPal
Click on the button below to sign up for a monthly pledge to NWTRCC of $10. This will be handled through PayPal and is not tax deductible. The pledge will continue until you put through a request to stop it. (See the above paragraph regarding donations through PayPal.)
Tax Deductible Contributions
By Mail
Contributions by check or money order, for $50 or more, made out to ROSC (Resources for Organizing and Social Change), are tax deductible to the extent the law provides. You should send checks to NWTRCC at the address above and we will forward them to ROSC.
Online
RESIST, Inc. (www.resistinc.org) accepts online, tax-deductible contributions for NWTRCC through their website. On the donation page, in the box labeled “Do you have any additional comments for RESIST?” make sure you type “NWTRCC” or another short message about your donation.
NWTRCC does not share or sell names on our mailing list with any outside groups. To build our support network, we do give the names of new people to the war tax resistance group or contact nearest to them.
