Dear Folks at IRS,

My total income for 2005=$9,337.50. Taking an earned income tax credit my calculations indicate a refund of $72.00. I ask that this $72.00 be used to pay war reparations to the people of Afghanistan and Iraq; victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Native peoples of this country, black slaves in theUSA; the people of Viet Nam, Nicaragua. The list is endless.

My deeply held beliefs in nonviolence will not allow me to support the criminal illegal invasion of Iraq based on lies; the criminal, illegal use of torture since that invasion.

I cannot support an illegally “elected” president and immoral Congress who violate the US Constitution, Bill of Rights — Amendments IIVV – with Homeland Security and Patriot Acts, Anti-terror, anti-drug laws/wars.

I cannot support denial of global warming which condemns millions of people around the world in the next 25 years.

The first presidential election I remember is Dwight Eisenhower’s. These are his words:

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone; it is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children.”
